Marshfield Youth MTB Team is open to student-athletes entering 6th through 12th grade this upcoming fall. (No younger than 10 and no older than 19.) Athletes interested in joining the team are welcome to try out one practice prior to registering with a parent-signed waiver. Please reach out to us via the below contact information if this option interests you. Riders can join the team after the start of the season, so please reach out at any time.
To join Marshfield Youth MTB team please contact Candace Pernsteiner. Once the request is received, we will send you an invitation to register with the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA) through their Pit Zone website.

Wisconsin NICA has programs available for need-based financial assistance for student-athletes and coaches. If financial assistance would help you or your family participate, please reach out and we can help you locate those resources. Financial assistance applications are reviewed prior to the start of the season, so we strongly encourage early application for those needing assistance.
COSTS:
We do not want cost to be a barrier for your participation. NICA and the Wisconsin League have scholarships available for those who cannot afford the dues and race fees. Talk with the coaches, and we can help you apply for funds.
o Required Fees
· Club Fee, non-refundable, payable online.
· These fees pay for equipment and supplies used during practices and races. The fees are also used for team and coach registration fees. Club fees are used for year-end celebration and marketing the club.
· Regular Membership, $125
· Sibling Membership, $60
o You must currently have a sibling that also rides for the team who is registered as a Regular Member
NICA PitZone Registration Fee, paid online: Pay $360 ($55 NICA Fee + $5 NICA Tech Fee (link)+ $300 WI League Fee)
o Optional Additional Costs:
Team Bike Shorts any black bike shorts will work.
Additional jersey or shorts can be ordered for family or friends from Borah.
Other team branded gear (t-shirts, sweatshirts, sweatpants) will be available for online ordering in July.
ALL TEAM MEMBERS ARE REQUIRED TO:
· Be registered on PitZone
· Have your bike and equipment checked off by one of the coaches or ask one of the mechanics at The Sports Den if your bike is appropriate for riding with the team by first day of practice.
